A word from our District GovernorDear Fellow Toastmasters and Welcome Guests. ![]() Simon Parcher, District 61 Governor If you are reading this message then you are on your way to embarking upon one of the most amazing Toastmasters journeys to ever be travelled in District 61 - the District 61 Fall Conference 2007. District 61 conferences are already renowned internationally for their exceptional success and "joie de vivre". However, there are several unique aspects to this year's fall conference that make it an event you really don't want to miss. The location of this year's fall conference is the fabulous Tremblant resort in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec. Being in Tremblant is like being in a magical land where everything is beautiful and there for your enjoyment. There will be time allocated for you to explore the treasures of this delightful fairytale village. As well, you can extend your stay for the two preceding and following days at the low conference rate. This year we are having a rare conference visit from our esteemed international President, Chris Ford. What makes this occasion even more special is that as we celebrate his presidential visit, we can also share in his success as a fellow district member. The third aspect of the conference that makes it one-of-a-kind is the theme and special events. The theme "The Sound of Toastmasters" is intended to evoke memories of the Hit 1965 musical "The Sound of Music". Friday night will feature a Bavarian Night with live theme music and plenty of cold beer. The Saturday night banquet will have the more sophisticated atmosphere of a Viennese waltz. Fellow Toastmasters, if you have been waiting for that one conference to attend, this is the one. It will be an educational, social and visual experience that you will remember for a long time. I hope you will take advantage of this rare opportunity to join me in Mont Tremblant on November 16-18, 2007! Simon Parcher
