President and Chief Executive Officer Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc.
Mr. Charest is President and Chief Executive Officer of Industrial Alliance, a position he has held since May 2000. From 1996 to 1999, he was Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer and was appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer in spring 1999.
Mr. Charest began his career at Industrial Alliance when he completed his studies in actuarial sciences at Université Laval. He held numerous positions in the Actuarial, Administration and Marketing sectors before becoming Chief Actuary from 1992 to 1996.
Within the Industrial Alliance group, Mr. Charest sits on the boards of directors of Industrial Alliance Pacific Insurance and Financial Services, IA Clarington Investments Inc., and Industrial Alliance Auto and Home Insurance.
Mr. Charest sits on the board of directors of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) and acted as President for the 2006-2007 period.
Mr. Charest is also very active among humanitarian organizations in the region. He has supported Centraide Québec in all its operations since 2000. He is currently in charge of financing campaigns at Laval University and Maison Michel-Sarrazin.
Yvon Charest is married and the father of three children.
